The International Training Education Center for Health (I-TECH) is an international partner that contributes to building human resources and systems to provide quality health services throughout the country, consistent with the Partnership Framework (leadership, management, accountability, and governance and human resources). I-TECH partners with MoHSW, the Ministry of Education, universities, technical education partners, and other stakeholders to develop a skilled health workforce and to improve national health delivery systems. I-TECH’s work has both a regional focus and a national reach in various program areas. I-TECH provides TA through the implementation of several initiatives. At the national level, I-TECH leads initiatives in HSS, particularly capacity building, laboratory strengthening, PMTCT, and improving HRH for better service delivery. At the regional level, I-TECH provides TA on HTC programs in Morogoro and on TB/HIV programs in Chamwino district in Dodoma region. I-TECH also focuses on building capacity of pre-service health training institutions to prepare graduates to provide quality care. I-TECH also builds capacity of zonal, regional, and district health teams and HCWs to improve systems to provide quality TB/HIV, HTC, PMTCT, and HIV treatment and support services. M&E is done through supportive supervision, quarterly and S/APR reports, and documentation of key milestones.

Mechanism Target Information

Since COP2014, PEPFAR no longer produces narratives for every mechanism it funds. However, PEPFAR has now included performance targets or indicator information for each mechanism based on the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (MER) system. The MER guidance is available on PEPFAR's website https://www.pepfar.gov/reports/guidance/. Note that COP years 2014-2015 were under a previous version of the MER system and the indicators and definitions may have changed as of the new 2.0 guidance.
