The Global Give Back Circle, which is a public-private partnership, is an innovative education, empowerment and employment transition program for orphans and vulnerable girls in Kenya. Beneficiaries are selected from across the country. The core goals of the program are to transition each girl to become empowered, selfless and capable. Through the program girls receive scholarships to enable them access education, leadership, ICT and life skills training, and one-on-one mentorship. In return each beneficiary has to offer voluntary service to their community while mentoring the next generation of scholarship awardees. The program has reached 570 beneficiaries, a majority of whom graduate from the program this year, leaving only 255 remaining to complete their education cycle. Although the program ends in Nov 2014 we plan to provide a cost extension to the cooperative agreement to allow the remaining 255 complete their education cycle.

Mechanism Target Information

Since COP2014, PEPFAR no longer produces narratives for every mechanism it funds. However, PEPFAR has now included performance targets or indicator information for each mechanism based on the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (MER) system. The MER guidance is available on PEPFAR's website https://www.pepfar.gov/reports/guidance/. Note that COP years 2014-2015 were under a previous version of the MER system and the indicators and definitions may have changed as of the new 2.0 guidance.
