Using these resources, ICF Macro will work with the staff of the Ministry of Imigration and Registrar of Persons, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics and other departments involved in civil registration to conduct a situation analysis in order to describe the current status of vital registration in Kenya. Additionally, a concept paper will be developed to outline the steps towards improving routine collection, processing and use of vital statistics to support planning and implementation of health programs. This mechanism will also support the enhancement of vital registration databases and ensure they are widely available for use in planning, monitoring and evaluation of health programs. 150 officials from various departments within the GoK will be trained on database management, data analysis and data use.
