The GH Tech Project provides ready access to high quality, external technical expertise to support USAID Missions in key functions such as independent evaluations of health projects and programs, rapid formative assessments and studies, project design, procurement, policy analysis, and strategic planning. The project provides Missions with administrative and managerial support, assistance in specific technical areas, and responds to other needs as appropriate. The mechanism also provides assistance in the planning, organization, implementation, and documentation of meetings, conferences, retreats, workshops, and other events.

The GH Tech Project supports Global Health Initiative and PEPFAR principles and is aligned with USAID Forward reforms and the agencys Evaluation Policy. Drawing from a large pool of experienced international consultants, the project provides independent technical experts to conduct assessments and studies, evaluate PEPFAR-funded activities, and support USAID Missions in all phases of project design, implementation, and management. This support help ensures that USAID PEPFAR activities are evidence-based and that performance information is available for informed decision-making.

Funding for Health Systems Strengthening (OHSS): $200,000

USAID/Burundi will provide funding to GH Tech to support the necessary technical expertise to design,

manage, and evaluate program activities. A number of the technical assistance services that the team would access are:

Program Evaluations;

Health Sector Assessments;

Program Designs;

Technical Program Assistance;

Convening of Consultative Groups;

Research Tracking;

Dissemination of Lessons Learned; and

Technical Reviews.

USAID/Burundi will also use this mechanism to access independent specialists, including those from universities, not-for-profit, and for-profit organizations and to obtain technical services of key experts to support areas of strategic interest to USAID.
