The FHI360 FANTA III mechanism is designed to strengthen food security and health policies, programs and systems for improved nutrition. The mechanism provides technical support to USAID and its partners, including host country governments, international organizations and NGO implementing partners. For this activity, the mechanism will lead the evaluation of the GoB’s Nutrition Rehabilitation Program (NRP), a program that has received PEPFAR/B support since 2007. The purpose of the evaluation is to look at program relevance or appropriateness, effectiveness, quality of services provided and financial implications for scale up. FANTA III will work closely with the GoB in the implementation of the activity. The evaluation will focus in the two Centers of Francistown (Nyangabgwe Hospital) and Gaborone (Princess Marina Hospital) and neighboring villages where the program has expanded to provide services.

Mechanism Target Information

Since COP2014, PEPFAR no longer produces narratives for every mechanism it funds. However, PEPFAR has now included performance targets or indicator information for each mechanism based on the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (MER) system. The MER guidance is available on PEPFAR's website https://www.pepfar.gov/reports/guidance/. Note that COP years 2014-2015 were under a previous version of the MER system and the indicators and definitions may have changed as of the new 2.0 guidance.

This mechanism has no published performance targets or indicators.
