Peace Corps Ghana will provide 75 PCVs and 75 Counterparts with technical HIV information and BCC strategies to empower them to roll out community projects. PC will train PCVs and Counterparts to roll out GrassRoot Soccer's (GRS) participatory HIV prevention program in their communities. GRS is a highly promising effort that can help turn the tide against HIV as it is based on evidence. Post will incorporate gender norm sessions in trainings aimed at encouraging men to be partners in women/girls' sexual and reproductive health issues to prevent the spread and mitigate the impact of HIV. Post will roll-out a Positive Health Dignity program aimed at improving the quality and length of life of PLHIV which could have beneficial effects on their communities, including reducing the likelihood of new infections. VAST grants activities will focus on - addressing stigma and discrimination both among PLHIV and within their immediate families, reducing multiple concurrent partners, the gender dimensions of HIV, the distribution and promotion of condom use, referral of PLHIV to health centers. Monitoring will include staff field visits.
